Baby Wipes

SO with two kiddos in diapers, I started making my own baby wipes about a year ago! Thankfully I only have one  in diapers today, but I still enjoy making my own baby wipes.  EC is almost a year old, and I can count on one hand how many diaper rashes she has had.  I truly believe that is due to making my own wipes!  Here’s how:

You will need:

  • one roll of Kleenex Viva paper towels
  • baby soap
  • baby oil
  • small container with lid (mine is a 7 cup Rubbermaid container)
  • water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Boil a little more than 3 cups of water and then let cool.
  2. Cut the paper towel roll in half using a sharp, non serrated knife. Save one half for later!
  3. Pour 3 cups of cooled water in a bowl. Mix in 2 T of baby oil and 3 T baby soap.
  4. Pour half of the water solution into your container and place one half of the paper towel roll into container (cut side down). Pour remaining water solution on top of the roll. Let sit for just a minute.

5.  Pull out the cardboard center as shown below.

6.  Use the container lid to smash down the paper towels so you are able to seal the container closed.

7.  Turn container upside and let sit for a while (maybe 30 minutes). Just to make sure the water solution is completely absorbed.

8.  Open container and pull wipes from center!

AND there you have it…your own homemade baby wipes! No unknown preservatives or ingredients you wouldn’t want on your baby’s precious skin.  I hope you take the time to try this out. It really works!

Pizza Bites

I was in charge of snacks for our Bible study group last night.  SO many options and recipes, but I chose this one….

PIZZA BITES

DSC_0008

  • Pizza dough (Store bought or homemade)
  • Cheese ( I prefer freshly grated Parmesan and mozzarella.)
  • Pizza toppings of your choice (pepperoni, sausage, etc)
  • Garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and grated Parmesan
  • Pizza sauce

Directions:  Roll out pizza dough into a large rectangle and cut into 24 squares.  Put a small amount of cheese and pizza topping on each square.  I made some with only cheese and the others had pepperoni!  Here are the pepperoni bites!

Take each square and fold up the sides to make a ball. Pinch the dough together to seal the ball closed.  Place ball into a greased pie pan or similar shaped pan.  Repeat until all balls are done. All 24 will fit tightly into the pan. In a small bowl, mix together a tablespoon of Parmesan, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.   Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with the seasoning mixture.  Bake at 400 for about 20 minutes or until browned.  Serve with a bowl of hot pizza sauce!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Fudge

Alright, this just might be one of my new favorite treats to make, AND it couldn’t be easier!

Go grab:

24 Reese’s peanut butter cups

3 cups of milk chocolate chips

a 14 oz can of sweetened condensed milk

Directions:

  1. Line a 9 by 9 pan with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. Unwrap all 24 Reese’s cups.  Place 16 in the pan.  Chop the other 8 Reese’s cups into small pieces and set aside.
  3. In a small sauce pan, heat the chocolate chips and condensed milk over low heat until melted.
  4. Immediately pour the chocolate mixture into the pan covering the Reese’s cups.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining chopped Reese’s pieces on top of the chocolate mixture.
  6. Cover and refrigerate until set.  Takes at least 4 hours to set completely.  I let mine set overnight before cutting into squares.  Enjoy!
